Product Characteristics: The human p8 gene encodes a nuclear protein with strong mitogenic activity, which is expressed in the pancreas in response to acute pancreatitis. Response to TNF alpha and staurosporine-induced apoptosis is not modified by p8 expression. However, cells expressing p8 grow significantly and more rapidly.
Target Information: Could participate in the response to proapoptotic stimuli and promotes cellular growth in a way that helps the tissue counteract diverse injuries. May contribute to the metastatic phenotype
